Spring Ski-ing!

September 30, 2007

me-in-snow.JPG

The boys and I have just had a fabulous week of spring ski-ing at Mount Hotham! Sure, not all the runs were open but enough were with groomed slopes, glorious sunshine and no lift queues!!  We ski-ed ourselves silly, added some freckles to the nose and had a lovely time with good friends.  It was the perfect antidote to a stressful five day rewrite of Emily and Linton’s story.

Now we’re home and I was thrilled to get an email from  my editor saying she liked the rewrites…phew!

So now there is one more week of school holidays where I juggle kids and non writing job and starting Flynn and Mia’s story. I just have to work out why Flynn doesn’t want to fall in love the moment he meets the gorgeous Mia……

AWOL

September 20, 2007

images.jpgI have revisions, two meetings, a play to see, laundry to do, packing for a week at the snow, cooking for a week at the snow, car overhaul for a week at the snow and it all has to happen by days end Saturday.

I’m not coping so this is why the blog has been vacant.

Leaving you with some pretty pictures to fill the gap while I quietly or not-so-quietly go mad.

Research aka Procrastination

September 10, 2007

You know that feeling when you’re researching and you’re having so much fun gathering information that you just can’t face the next step? The step where you actually start the project:-) That’s where I am right now. I’ve been having the best time…I’ve interviewed a Remote Area Nurse, I’ve learned heaps about Indigenous health, I’ve watched some Rural Health videos and I just want to keep learning because it is all so fascinating. BUT, I have to start the book!

I have started the collage, does that count?

I’m excited to see that A WOMAN TO BELONG TO is on-sale on the UK Mills and Boon site. This is my Vietnam Book so if you want a taste of exotic Asia then this one is for you:-)  It will be on shelf in the UK in October, on line a eharlequin in December and available in Australia in November and December. Read all about it on my website!

And while I’m procrastinating, the little dancing man is having a birthday! Yes! The Pink Heart Society is turning one and to help celebrate, my gift to the little guy is Born Lippy! pink, strawberry lip balm. Happy Birthday!!!

A Week Off

September 5, 2007

Bollards The sun is shining, spring is here and I’ve just got back from a school excursion where the grade 3 & 4s are learning about the history of our town. We walked 4 kilometres and I’m ready for a nap! left I shouldn’t need one but the moment I handed in my book on Friday I came down with a bad cold. Why is it that the moment the pressure is off I get sick? Anyway, I’m on the improve and have spent my time catching up on the Gilmore Girls :-) gilmore girls

Now I am off to lug grey water onto the garden as the sun has been shining too much and then I really need to knuckle down and come up with a story line for my third book for 2007
