My Friend’s Debut Book!

There is nothing more exciting than seeing your debut novel on a shelf in a shop in your own town. You find yourself going shopping more often just so you can gaze at it! But it isn’t just your first book, it is a testament to sheer determination, persistence and picking yourself up and writing again after heart-ripping rejections.

My good mate, Robyn Grady is a living legend when it comes to picking herself up and writing again, and today I want to celebrate her DEBUT NOVEL, Dream Job, Hot Boss!, which is on shelf in Australia from today OR online here.

Robyn not only sold this book in December 06, she has gone on to sell four more! So raise a glass to Robyn who now has her Dream Job writing for Harlequin Desire and Sexy Sensation.

Australia’s Woman’s Day

I’m pretty excited! This week I have a short story published in the  Australian Woman’s Day! I had never really written short stories but it’s funny how things happen. In January, I was invited to be part of Sizzle, Seduce and Simmer so I had my first attempt at a short story when I wrote Just Delectable. Then, when I was a Ruby Finalist earlier this year, Woman’s Day invited me to write a short story but it can only be 1500 words! This isn’t very many words at all and it was less than half the size of Just Delectable.

But the opportunity to be in a national woman’s magazine doesn’t come around too often so I had a go! The idea for Mr Gorgeous hit me at parent-teacher interviews. So when you’re at the checkout this week, grab a copy of Woman’s Day and you’ll find my story on page 100.

A Book Launch!

If you’re going to be in Melbourne on November the 1st you might want to come along to an exciting event! A group of 26 “DownUnder” ( AUS & NZ) authors have banded together to give you Sizzle, Seduce & Simmer: a collection of romantic short stories and recipes! Love and food! Food and love! I mean what better combination can you get:-)

A Good News Day

Sold in 60 seconds…I wish…more like 6 months! Ok, I am exaggerating a tad but I started the book in May and it sold last night so it was pretty darn close to six months. I’m thrilled to say that Emily and Linton’s story will be told sometime next year…title and date TBA.

Meanwhile enjoy some wonderful Warragurra scenes.

 

Island Nurse

Meet Mia and Flynn, my current Hero and Heroine in my island story. Mia is running away and so is Flynn but for very different reasons. So far I have a very short chapter one so it’s situation normal as I grapple with a new book!  I wish it was easier but it seems that the start never writes itself.
