Spring Ski-ing

September 27, 2008

I’m back from a fabulous week of spring ski-ing at Mt Hotham. The wonderful thing about spring ski-ing is the weather…cloudless blue skies every day!  I got to play each morning ski-ing all my fave runs while the boys were in ski-school and then in the afternoon we skied togehter. I spent a lot of time day dreaming on chairlifts and gazing at Mt Feathertop which rises majestically from the Alpine range and carves an impressive figure.  I LOVE the Alpine region of Australia which is why I set HER MIRACLE BABY there.  Here are some photos to enjoy while I deal with a couple of revisions for my current wip.

DONE!

The book that would never end, has!  YAY!

Started in May, interrupted by Borneo, derailed by conference committee duties, I finally sent it off to my editor yesterday, two days ahead of my deadline :-) Now I am wondering around aimlessly with a mountain of things to do but not able to do them!  The kids break up today for two weeks school holidays and we’re off to the snow for some spring ski-ing. I have an opening page in my head but not sure if there is anything else behind it to back it up so hopefully while I am schussing down the slopes it might just build.

FIngers crossed that my editor loves Kirby and Nick and their beachside story. I know I did.

The Allure of Mediterranean Doctors

September 10, 2008

My mate, Amy Andrews was so determined to write a Mediterranean doctor story that she went there! Now that is dedication to the cause :-)   She and her DH tripped off to Positano, Italy for a seriously difficult week of ‘getting into character.’ :-)   But you can tell because her story exudes the wonder that is the Mediterranean and it’s not just me telling you this!  This book is out as a Presents in the US and the Romantic Times gave it a 4 Star Review!  Here ’s what they said…..

“Amy Andrews’ luxurious Italian backdrop is so beguiling that readers will believe they’re walking along the craggy Mediterranean coastline and smelling the garlic and onions wafting from Mama Medici’s homey Italian kitchen. And the well-written medical scenes support the growing love between the hero and heroine instead of detracting from their romance.”

I adored the Amy’s prequel book, The Surgeon’s Meant-To-Be Bride where we met Katya and Ben for the first time so I am really excited they got their own story and I’m especially excited, as I know Amy is, that it is being released as part of a Presents Mediterranean Doctor series along with the talented Kate Hardy and Sarah Morgan.  So keep an eye out for these three great reads and kick back and let the Mediterranean sunshine wash over you. I know I am :-)

The Thrill of a Great Review

September 3, 2008

The Playboy Doctor’s Marriage Proposal is out in the UK and I just received two reviews…one on CataRomance and the other on The Pink Heart Society and…they loved it! PHEW!  Putting your book out there for public comment is never easy and especially this book which has a rocky write. The middle of the year is always tough for me as a holiday and then the conference pull me out of the book.

CataRomance writes: “Written with plenty of heart and sensitivity, and imbued with lots of irresistible charm and exuberance, The Playboy Doctor’s Marriage Proposal is the latest keeper by a writer who is set to follow in the footsteps of Australian superstars such as Marion Lennox and Robyn Donald: Fiona Lowe!”  How cool is that! To be compared with two such great writers, I tell you I am dancing on air. Read more here

I have a soft spot for this story so I am really excited that these two review sites gave it a such great wrap, I hope you enjoy The Playboy Doctor’s Marriage Proposal too!
